Samuel Ansorge to be the new CEO of Brugg Cables effective 1 April 2018

He will succeed as CEO of the Cables Division from Urs Schnell. He will then end his dual role. Urs Schnell will continue to be active as CEO of the Brugg Group.

Samuel Ansorge to be the new CEO of Brugg Cables 

Effective 1 April 2018, Samuel Ansorge will take over the top role at the Cables Division. 

Mr. Ansorge has profound knowledge of the power industry. During his 6 years at Dätwyler AG in Altdorf, he gathered extensive experience in project management and sales and served as head of the Cable Accessories Business Unit. After that, he spent 15 years working for a globally active company in the business of power transmission and distribution, first as CEO of the Swiss company, then as head of the global Overhead Lines Business Unit and later as a member of the Management Board of the holding company located in Germany.

Born in Aargau, he earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering from ETH Zurich and later successfully completed a Ph.D. extra occupational as well in ETH. He has also continued to study strategy and sales management at St. Gallen University. Mr. Ansorge is married and the father of two children. In his free time, he likes to do outdoor sports and study computer science and economic literature.

The Board of Directors and members of the Management of the Brugg Group have confidence in the abilities of the new CEO and look forward to working with Mr. Ansorge.
